RSTV for my 5 yr old?

I am flying to FL with just my mom and two kids. She thinks I'm crazy and we've had fights in the past about my preference for car seats on the plane. So I know she won't help me carry/install two seats on the plane.

My oldest (daughter) will just have turned 5, is 52.5 lbs and 46" tall. She is pretty mature for her age, although I've never even tried booster training her because we have her in a frontier. Do you think the RSTV 2 would be an option to consider? That way I would only have to deal with the one car seat for my youngest on the plane.

My husband is coming for a portion of the trip, and we will be driving 3 hrs down to the Keys. So that part I am hesitant about...

Are there any other options to consider?

We did this when my son was 5 or 6 and I was flying alone with 2 kids. I took our radian for the younger one and the rstv for the older one. Worked great for the 1.5-2 hr ride from the airport to where we were going. I did end up picking up a booster while we were in town but that was because we were driving 8 hrs across the state and I thought he might be more comfortable. If we were only going 2-3 hrs, I think the rstv would have been fine.

I would do a backless for the older kid and a Maestro for the younger. $75 and you will not need help carrying or installing anything.
