Pinnacle 90 as a booster

ADS
Yes, it can be used in booster mode to keep the seat from becoming a projectile as long as it doesn't interfere with the seat belt buckle and your vehicle allows it.

Another question... We're expecting #4 and looking at getting a '12 navigator L. The plan was to put the 8.5 yr old and 6.5 yr old in the third row in the pinnacles. I've read that as long as they're below 65 lbs (they weigh 54&57 lbs) they don't have to be tethered. What about in booster mode? I'm nervous to have them in boosters that can't be latched because there's no latch back there. And can they be used as boosters without being tethered? Ugh.. I'm stressing... We have a pilot and I love all the tethers but we are seriously outgrowing it...

I wouldn't be nervous at all about using the pinnacles in the third row. Boosters need not be tethered. Do you have the Pinnacles already? If not, I'd consider getting dedicated HBBs for both the 8.5 and 6.5 year olds. The Pinnacle generally only fits well as a booster after the child has outgrown the harness, and unless your kids are particularly tall, the booster mode may not fit well.

We have the pinnacles already and I love them. I'll keep using them harnessed until they reach 65lbs and then switch. Thank you so much! :)

Which booster would you recommend, btw? I like the looks of the recaro pro booster. I have a Cambria that we use for a friends daughter but I don't "love" it..

I'd look at the Safety 1st Boost Air Protect, Britax Parkway, Diono Cambria and Evenflo Big Kid Amp.

Remember that if you use your Pinnacle(s) in booster mode, they CANNOT be reclined :)

ETA: The RECARO booster is great, too. I forgot to add that as a booster I would recommend.
