Britax and Fisher Price (and Britax chest slip Q)

So, I know that the Safe Voyage Deluxe was basically a stripped-down version of the Marathon, and that it was manufactured by Britax. Were all Fisher Price seats made by Britax? I was just wondering this tonight, as I have an expired Safe Embrace that feels (both figuratively and literally - damn is that thing heavy!) a lot like a Britax.

Second question: the chest clip that was with the Safe Embrace, that I'm 95% sure came with the seat, looks like a 'newer' Britax IMMI clip (definitely not like the 'old' style Britax clips). So I guess that has me scratching my head.

Only the newer FP Safe Voyage product line is made by Britax, but none of the older FP seats were Britax-made (i.e. the Safe Embrace/Stay in View/Futura models). The older FP seats were sure Britax-like in quality and features, yup, but not Britax made.

Are you certain your Safe Embrace is expired? Another perk of the older FP seats is an 8-year expiration. You probably knew that, just wanted to make sure in case you were thinking it expired after 6 years and it might have some useful life left after all.

Yep, I'm still using two 2001 FPSE seats and love them! Great quality and the chest clips are like Britax!

It was a neighbor's. I told her it was expired (which it will be in a few months, full DOM is 3/2000), mostly because it was also given to her by the Grandparent's neighbor, who didn't own it originally (so it had 2 other owners prior). It was easier for me to call expired than to bring into question the history of the seat, ya know? And plus, it's kind of a super cool seat that I like to play with
