Hmm. Thought to use the link on the data page. It seems like the answer is yes.

I'm kind of over the KeyFit. Chin is always on the chest. In this case with or without the insert as well as insert and no headrest. Blah.

Aside from the insanely easy install and slim base, I've never understood the KeyFit love. The canopy is a joke, the fabrics aren't great and the insert is like an overstuffed pillow. And the seat is $$$$.

I agree the install is great. But do I recall it loosening over time with the seat belt and lock off?

I never had problems with the belt loosening in the lock-off. And the insert is not required

Thanks. I didn't get that in my quick perusal of the manual.

    Re: Qiuick KeyFit question

If chin-to-chest is an issue, taking out the headrest and leaving the bottom insert in tends to help give a better fit and let the head back far enough to solve the chin-to-chest problem.

    Re: Qiuick KeyFit question

I didn't have issues with chin to chest with DS2 in the Keyfit until I tried to leave the head portion of the insert in. All in and all out where fine and I loved the install. I just wish he had fit in the seat longer but he was a huge baby!

    Re: Qiuick KeyFit question

I never had the chin to chest problem either. It worked very well for the three babies I had it for. I used both inserts till 11 lbs, and then just the head cushion for a few months. My one baby was 6 lbs 8 oz and lost quite a bit of weight, so fairly small, and she did well in the Keyfit.

Tried that. And it wasn't the first time. I see the chin on chest all the time in the nursery. Maybe because preemie heads can be long and narrow, haha. But Griffin had the same problem and was 7 lbs. He was kind of chinless. It was better after I got the Magic insert.
