Question Guidelines on centering in position in seat

Asked this question yesterday but let me ask another way. Right now my center rf MA is about 1 inch off center relative to the seating position. In other words, it doesn't line up exactly with the headrest, and it's not centered between the latch anchors (which are not used for this seat install...borrowing not allowed). Situation is caused by a FR85 in the outboard position shoving it sideways. Install is solid, just uncentered. What say you, car seat gurus? I can move the MA outboard if necessary; I was hoping to squeeze in a HBB if possible in a 3-across. Car is a Suzuki sx4.

I'm not familiar with your particular car, but as long as the installations are both independently tight and there's nothing else weird going on (like the edge of the car seat falling into a crack between vehicle seats or anything), it sounds fine. One of the benefits of using a seatbelt (vs lower anchors) is that you have the ability to scootch seats over a bit to make more room in other seating positions.

:yeahthat: If you remove the FR85, the MA should be a secure installation. I know another member here has an SX4 and she was having a hard time fitting 3 across her back seat...

What is the age & weight of the child needing to ride in a booster?

Thank you. I'll take a picture tomorrow in the daylight, and i'll confirm that the MA is secure by removing the FR85. SX4 is a 2009. It's tight back there, but the seat is pretty flat and deep so I feel like I can make this work. The occasional rider is petite at 5 years, about 40 lbs. He rides in a HBB in his own car but i have no problem harnessing him, as my son, his pal, is harnessed in the FR85. So I'll either try to fit a combination seat in there or a HBB.

So here are some pics. In the light of day the situation appears more grim than I had thought. I hadn't realized the Fr85, now closer to the door, is hanging off the rounded edge of the seat. And while the MA doesn't move, it sure does look awkward.
