Retrofitting Anchor Points

I swear I heard that they (meaning gov't?) made it a law or rule or something that the first anchor point was free, and then each additional would have to be paid for. Is that right, or was I dreaming that?

Also, why it's over $200 in install an anchor point, I have no idea...

Nope, no law governing any of it, it's all dependent on the car manufacturer and the hours of labor it takes to install, and whether they love children or not (oooh, slam...). If you have (or are getting?) the LATCH manual they go into some detail about all of it. :)

GM and Ford will do at least one for free. Others (like Mazda) want over $200 to do one. :( The LATCH manual really is an invaluable tech resource. ;)
