Convertible seat rec please

Hello all,
I would love a recommendation for a convertible seat for my son. He is currently 2 months old in a baby trend flex loc. He should last in that seat for several more months, but grandmas are asking about Xmas gifts already and I thought a car seat would be a good gift, so we will have it ready for late winter/spring.
Son is a very big baby so far- 95th percentile for both height and weight since birth. My older children are smaller than average so no idea how long he will continue to be so big.
I drive a honda pilot and sit three kids across in the second row. 9 yr old in backless turbobooster, 6 yr old in high back turbobooster, and baby. I need a narrow seat, so that the big kids have space to reach down and buckle themselves.
My Older two rearfaced until 3 years old in britax seats. I was very happy with the britax, but not sure if they are the best now that I need a narrow seat, that will not interfere with the big kid's seatbelt.
Thoughts?
Thank you!
Sarah

Hi and Welcome!

First of all what a GREAT idea for a Christmas present. Go Grandmas!

You'd likely either need something that's high up on a base to allow room for your other children to buckle their boosters or a very narrow convertible like the Diono Radian or Ranier/Olympia/Pacifica. They are going to have 45-50 weight limits RF'ing also so if your child continues the growing trend you'd have plenty of room. As you probably experienced with your other kiddos their growing plateaued at a certain point and you may not need the higher limits, but if you/grandma can afford it, it's a good option.

Britax are fine but with that kind of height already you would probably want to consider the new Click Tight versions as they have taller rear facing limits.
Those will have 40lb rear facing limits.
Other seats to consider would be the Graco 'clones' Size4Me, Headwise, MySize etc. Those are also 40lb RF'ing.

hope that gets you started!
