Question Am I crazy?

So, Graco is discontinuing the classic connect seats. Our 5 mo old is crazy long in the torso and doesn't have a lot of room left in his Keyfit. I bought it from NBD back in the day and it expires Oct. 2016. Am I crazy for ditching the Chicco and going for a Snugride 35 classic connect (Graco rebate)? I've always loved that seat but didn't know you could use the euro path when I got the Keyfit... If I would have known I would have gotten the Sr35. Decisions... Our winters are harsh and it's usually pretty cold until March, sometimes April (and we could pass it down to the next kid).

I had a KF that I loved and we decided to go to a convertible when she was 7 months old (July) so we sold the KF. She wasn't anywhere near outgrowing it but I was tired of lugging her around haha. Wouldn't you know I regretted getting rid of the bucket seat almost instantly (I had a 2 door car and I hated climbing in the back everytime to get her in and out). I happened to stumble upon a Graco travel system at Target that had a SR35 for $50 and ended up using it through the winter and I was so glad I had it! I ended up selling it for $100 in the spring. I definitely love my KF more than the SR but if you son is too big, I wouldn't hesitate to get a SR, especially if you would be able to pass it down or resell later.

I may post the Keyfit. We may be flying again this spring and it would be oh so handy to use an infant seat again (flying solo with babe).

Not crazy. I think the SR35 is a great choice especially if you find a good deal. I had the predecessor of that seat, the SafeSeat1. I think it's the same shell. Both of my first 2 babies fit in it until 18 months and could've kept riding in it, but by that time I was ready to move them to the convertible. For the 3rd baby I wanted something new and my SafeSeat was going to expire soon, so I got a Keyfit. I like it, but there are things I miss about the old seat that I didn't know I would miss.

I have some serious love for the SR35/SafeSeat.
I don't think you're crazy at all and honestly I'd be doing the same thing if the child would fit in the SR through the winter.
