Frontier 90 v SecureKid 400 v whoknowswhat

So I'm in the market for a new seat. My daughter is 4 and maybe 31 lbs and about 40" tall. She's FFing in a TrueFit Premier right now, but I'd like to have a more upright convertible/booster seat. Something that will get us through until we're done with needing a seat. Husband is balking at the $250+ price of the Britaxes, but not sure if the Evenflo is a good choice instead or if there should be something else I'm looking for (Graco, etc). Weight limits are obviously not an issue, it's more that she's getting so tall.

The Britax pioneer is less than the Frontier if that helps. We used the SecureKId for quite a while. It was fine but the straps are twisty and it is a narrow seat. Luckily Matthew was skinny. It was an easy install. Maybe the Nautilus?

The Frontier90 ought to last a long time.
My 8-year-old (slightly tall for his age) is harnessed on the highest click and it fits.
We also have the Securekid (300 I think) for my younger child as a backup seat but it's not as easy to buckle and unbuckle. It's light though, which is nice since I had to get it into the third row!

You could also look at the Harmony Defender and the Recaro Performance Sport. And the Graco Nautilus.

I don't have personal experience with any of them (we've had 2 Frontiers, the original 80lb version which we're still using as a booster, and the 85lb version which has been passed down to my Niece) but they all get good reviews here from people that have them.

I adore my SecureKid DLX. It was cheap with a BRU coupon and installs like a dream. It's very lightweight. Ds3 really likes it, too, with it's big boy cup holders. Even my 9 year old liked it and wanted one for himself.

I just got my 3.5 year old the Frontier 90 and it is seriously AMAZING. Clicktight install is incredible. So comfy and I love the recline option. Haven't tried the others but I have had a ProSport and like the Frontier 90 MUCH better. The Frontier has the highest harness position so essentially will last longer. Good luck!

Graco Nautilius is a great option for a child that size. They make a couple different versions and also the Argos which has a no rethread harness. Definitely look into those. Can be had for 140 and even less on sale or with coupons. I got a Safety Surround version for $89
