Travel car seats: Light AND Easy to install??

Hi everyone! While searching on here for travel car seat recommendations, I found a post from 2012 asking for ideas for travel car seats with the golden trifecta of lightweight (for airline travel), easy to install (for in and out of lots of rental cars), and long life RF. (My husband is about to "Office Space" our Radian - he refuses to lug it on another plane). We live in the UK right now but are Americans and travel back to the US a lot.

I was hoping there might be some updated recs over the past 4 years. The original post talked about the Coccoro and the Roundabout. I love the new click tight system, and we'll prob get them for our perm car seats, I absolutely cannot lug those around travelling.

Here are the kiddos I'm looking to buy for:

1) 17 month DD who's tall (30") and growing fast (22lbs). I'd like to keep her RF til at least 2 but if she has to FF while traveling it's not the end of the world. I'd rather the install be as perfect as it can be without a tech and not require extra gear.

2) 3yo DS who's 37"/30lbs - estimating he'll be about 40" next summer during the majority of our travel.

US or European recs are fine (although the Euro ones don't seem to have chest clips).

TIA!

Hi there.

The lack of a chest clip does not make the seats unsafe. They have a way to hold the straps on the shoulders before a crash, same as the US seats, they just do it differently (by being more of a V shape).

Is your three year old rear or forward facing?

For the baby I'd look at the Safety 1st Guide. That should rear face until well after two, then forward face until about five or so. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUtVrtt4X1A"]Noodle-less Install - YouTube[/ame]

I have the Evenflo SureRide for Grandma's car. It is pretty light and not bad to install. I wouldn't call it "easy," but it is not hard. It rear faces and ff large kids.
