3 Across in a Subaru Outback

We are getting ready to start trying for baby #3 this month and started thinking of the logistics of how it will work car seat wise. We have a 2010 Subaru Outback that we absolutely love and would prefer to keep...and avoid the expense of a new car. However, can 3 fit across the back?

Below are the seats we have:
Britax Pioneer (FF)
Britax Boulevard (FF)
Infant Seat (we are debating between Chico Keyfit and Britax infant seat)

Anyone used these combo of seats or similar in a Subaru? Probably a long shot but can't hurt to ask!

I've hesitated to answer your question because I don't have those exact carseats and our Outback is a different model year -- but in the absence of other responses, I'd say that:

- You are unlikely to get 2 big Britaxes and an infant seat (with base) across the back. It's just not quite that wide.

- I have done various 3-across combinations in the Outback, but all of them involved at least one narrow seat like a Diono Radian or Bubble Bum booster.

- You *might* be able to do the following: infant seat outboard - Radian FF center - Britax FF outboard.

- If that does not work, a narrower option instead of the infant seat would be a Combi Coccoro RF.

- And if your oldest child is potentially ready to move to a booster by the time baby 3 arrives, you might save a few inches with something like a Britax Parkway or Harmony booster instead of the Pioneer. A Bubble Bum would be even narrower, but is a little tricky for kids to do by themselves every time in a tight setting.

- Getting new carseats is expensive but pales in comparison to the cost of a new car. In most states, the sales tax and registration fees alone on a new (or new-to-you) car will be in the hundreds of dollars.
