Which seats would be on your "must try" list for 4 yr old 36 lb FF?

G, 4 yrs 4 months, 36 lbs, 43", FF. Currently on my list: Foonf, Recaro Performance Sport, Britax Pioneer (because he doesn't need the extra size of the FR90 and I don't need the ClickTight). What else might I want to try? Budget isn't a concern. A taller convertible wouldn't be out of the question because he isn't that big of a kid and I tend to favor dedicated HBBs over combination seats when the time comes. My priorities are safety, obviously ;), comfort, and ease-of-use. Decent padding is a must because he's a skinny boy and doesn't have much padding of his own (I have read that the Foonf lacks in this area). Should I try the NextFit?

My DS1 loooooves his Frontier90. He loves the arm rests, the cup holders, and the padding on the crotch buckle, lol. (He likes that it doesn't get stuck under him and he can get it ready for me to buckle himself). He has also slept in it and didnt have head slump.

He's almost 4, 42 inches and 38lbs, so similar stats.

My son just turned 4 and is about 41" and 36lbs. He is still RFing but I bought the FR90 and Recaro Performance Sport for when we turn him around. He has sat in both to try them out and he preferred the FR90. He prefers his Foonf to both of those. We also have a NextFit that he calls his "comfy seat" in our second vehicle. He hasn't ridden FF in it but likes to ride in it as well. He's been riding in his Foonf for over a year and hasn't once complained it isn't comfortable.

I, personally, would not get a convertible seat only to be used forward facing. My list would include britax pinnacle (because I have an older vehicle lacking side air bags), frontier, and pioneer, recaro performance sport, and graco nautilus (maybe with safety surround.

Do you prefer the fr90 or the recaro?

Britax is releasing a new version of the Britax Xtensafix (or so rumour has it) so I am def. going to have a play with that hehe.
That is the only seat apart from the TWE which I already own, that harnesses above 40lb FF.
As for HBB we have set our eyes on the Diono Monterey or the Recaro Monza 2.

Well I only installed both of them for about 10 minutes total. I installed to make sure they'd fit/work with my vehicle and let DS sit in them and see which he felt most comfortable in. Other than that we did not use them at all. I really wanted to use the Foonf FF for the REACT and I got a new Foonf for $229 from clek. So we are going to just FF in the Foonf when he asks to turn. Or outgrows it RFing.

I actually sold the FR90 and am trying to sell the Recaro. I liked the install of the FR90 a lot but since that's all I really did with both seats I don't know that I'm capable of judging which I liked better. :)
