Question Booster or Convertible booster with no tether?

My son is 6 years old. I still have him in a 5 point harness in our main car, but don't have an available tether in my husband's car. My question is, is it safer to install another Britax Fronteir 90 and not top tether it OR just use the Britax Parkway Belt Positioning Booster with the seatbelt? My preference would be the 5 point harness but I don't know if it is safe to use it without the top tether...looking for the safest option out of the two.

If the child is over 65 pounds, the tether is required on the Frontier 90. It is not an option to use the Frontier 90 untethered if the child is over 65 pounds.

If the child is under 65 pounds, there is no evidence that either is safer than the other. Head excursion limits are the same. Make your decision based on the other factors, like the child's maturity level, ease of use, and personal preference.
