My daughter is almost 5 years old and she is outgrowing her convertible car seat. We are looking at high back booster seats and need guidance on the best options for our car (2008 Lexus GX SUV). Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm looking at the back seat of a 2008 Lexus GX and the only thing that strikes me as a potential issue is the raised seat bight.
Hopefully this is similar to your back seat:

And this points out what I mean by a raised seat bight:

What could happen is some boosters might not make full contact with the vehicle seat back. But your headrests don't look like they jut too far forward, another potential issue.
In general, for boosters, I prefer ones that LATCH to ones that do not. This isn't a safety issue for the booster rider (mostly) but IS a safety issue for the driver and other passengers...because if a booster isn't rebuckled every time or is not LATCHed it can become a projectile in an accident and cause injury.
The high back LATCHable boosters list is not too long. Currently we have:
Graco Affix
Clek Oobr
Diono Monterey (discontinued, not sure if you can get one)
New Diono Cambia Booster (not yet released)
Britax Parkway SGL
(Someone chime in if I'm missing one!)
Each has pluses and minuses. I have two Montereys, and we've been very happy with those. I have seen positive comments for all of the others (except the Cambria as it is not released).
VERY important is belt fit, and child's ability to buckle. If you're in a position to try a few out in your car, or even in the store, to see how your child likes it, that's always a good thing!
