Question ISOFIX compatability

Hi,

I am travelling from NZ to Canada and have a ISOFIX car seat I am hoping to bring with me. Does anyone know if a Canadian 2008 GMC Silverado is equipped with ISOFIX or Canadian equivalent? How about a 2014 F350 Supercab? These are my families vehicles that I and my daughter will be riding in for the duration of our stay.

The Silverado definitely would have isofix (called Universal Anchorage System or UAS in Canada). I don't believe the F350s have it. They are in a weight class that's exempt from having UAS, I believe.

The 350s aren't required to have it but might anyway. They have locking L/S belts and are super easy to install child restraints in. The 2008 Silverado definitely has UAS if it's the 1500 or 2500. I'm not sure about the 3500. Again, very easy to install seats with the belt if it doesn't have UAS

Do those exist? I've never seen an isofix seat in the wild.

I also thought that isofix couldn't be used with UAS because the spacing is different?? Or maybe it's in the reverse??

Spacing is the same, I'm almost certain (280mm). We don't have ISOFIX only seats here in North America but they exist in the European market.

The 2015 ford brochure says that the rear seat positions (& front passenger for the Regular cab) have TT anchors. It is silent re UAS so I suspect they aren't there because they are listed in the F150 brochure

I see isofix seats for sale on our local CL all the time. I assume people bring them when they move here. Or import them.

That's what I suspected. I know that's the case in older models.
