I live in south Texas so I feel your pain. Poor DS had to ERF without any A/C vents in the back seat of my Forester. He is also little sweat ball to begin with. I have found that in general the less padding the better. If the description says cushy, I cross it off my list. The convertible that seemed to keep DS the coolest was the Foonf, but you probably didn't want to hear that. The fabric is flat (not fuzzy), and the seat isn't squishy, so the air seems to circulate. I seem to remember the old style TFP was good because it had an open design. I haven't played with any of the new style though.
I'm considering the new Clek Fllo - it looks promising. I hated the high base on the Foonf, the Fllo is suppose to sit a little lower.
May have to look at the True fit too.
I think the Evenflo symphony has a new platinum version that is supposed to help keep the kid cool in the summer and warm in the winter, it's not the longest lasting rf tho, you can probably only get to 2 rf
I think seats that are more low sided would be less sweaty. Try a Radian.
I know there was a Radian cover that is suppose to be "cooler" - is it the Rugby?
