Keyfit padding?

My noob arrived five weeks early, which threw us all for a loop. He is just under 5lbs and in a Keyfit 30. Passed his car seat test fine and went home with me, no NICU.

Are the shoulder pads mandatory? They practically swallow him. I didnt see anything in the manual, but then again, I'm sleep deprived

Using the infant insert, obviously. Mis the head support considered a separate thing from the insert?

So glad I got a seat with a low weight limit! (I have a coccoro, too)

Congratulations on your little one!

Head support is different than the insert and can be used until the baby needs the top harness slots IIRC.

I don't think the neck pads are mandatory. Two of the cover sets I had didn't seem to come with them and the manual doesn't address them.

The only thing two definite things in the manual are you may not use the newborn insert after 11 lbs and you may not use the haed support when baby is using the top harness slots.

Yep, shoulder strap covers are optional!

Agree with PP and i confirm that the rules are that the infant insert (butt part) can't be used beyond 11 lbs and that the head insert can't be used with the top harness slots. But none of the padding is required at any time.
