i am having a hard time finding any boosters that recline! i did find the clek oober but that is the only one and it seems to have a very short seat area. my daughter is 7-1/2 yrs old, 42 pounds and 47 inches tall. i don't know the torso height that i have seen a few ppl mention, nor do i know how to measure that part! the reason i am in search of one that reclines is for long trips. i live in texas and to get to the beach is a good 12 hours!!!:(
while my daughter sleeps i can hear her snoring because the tilt of her head is apparently obstructing air flow!any input is greatly appreciated

My daughter is the same age but a couple inches taller and 11 pounds heavier. She loves her Oobr. Says it's very comfy on trips. That being said, I don't think we've ever reclined it. Haven't needed to. She can sleep fine in it in it's upright position. And once their weight is in it, it's virtually impossible to do while driving. So not something you can just reach over, pull the lever and recline them if they fall asleep. You have to recline it before they get in the seat.

The Peg Perego booster reclines. In that if your vehicle seat reclines, you are allowed to recline the vehicle seat and the booster will follow.

That being said, the Peg is priced high for it's feature set and the cupholders suck. You can get the Britax Parkway SGL for less and it has SafeCell and the SecureGuard clip. We also have this Parkway and again, DD can sleep very well in it even without a recline feature.

Just a caution, reclining a booster seat too much increases the risk of the child submarning out from under the seatbelt. So, slight recline to match the vehicle seat is usually ok, but a large amount of recline is not safe in a booster (or for adults in seatbelts, either).

When she sleeps, is she slumping forward? I found my kids slept well in hbb as long as they looked up as they got tired. That keeps the head against the back of the seat/side wings and airway nice and open. That being said, my 4yo snores like crazy in all car seats, even when he was rearfacing and nicely reclined. Doc says he just has a floppy airway, but no apnea so no need for concern. It could be she just snores?

In terms of boosters, my 8yo loves her britax parkway and sleeps well in it. She did not like the oobr when we tried it out.

Torso height is bum to shoulder. Sit them cross legged against a wall and measure fom ground to shoulder.

Cybex Solution Q-Fix & X-Fix has a reclining headrest feature... http://cybex-online.com/us/carseats/solutionqfix.html http://cybex-online.com/us/carseats/solutionxfix.html A bit pricey and not sure it's worth it as I've never seen one in person but just throwing it out there.

Besides the headrest, the Q-Fix also allows for a small amount of recline of the back. I want to say it can recline 15 degrees from upright. It basically moves along with the vehicle seatback, so you'd need a vehicle that allows the seat to be reclined. Keep in mind we're taking about a very small amount of recline here--not putting the seat all the way back or anything.

I just ordered the Q fix my my son who is a car sleeper. We joke that he has auto-narcolepsy. He slumps forward in his BV70 in the recline position. He is about to outgrow the bv70 so he is getting this for my inlaws car (he'll stay harnessed in the main vehicles) I'm really hoping it keeps him from slumping.

We have an Xfit and I forgot that the headrest even does that! LOL

It is a nice feature when we have used it on long trips before. Glad you reminded me, b/c we're using it again daily (now that I'm back in a van and no longer have a tight 3 across)..and headed on a long trip in a few weeks. It works well for that.
