I got one off of amazon for the small 8 yo I am watching starting next week and of course my daughter played with it when I put it together (yes, I remembered the screws :) ) but after looking at her sitting in it it appears that she's even too big for the smallest setting. She was 40" at her last ped appt a few months ago and has an average torso. Edit- I did know they were on the smaller side but didn't realize they went that short... No wonder so many uninformed people put two year olds in them...

Cute car seat nerd kid concern though- seeing it on the amazon screen and in person she is VERY concerned that there are no straps in the seat and keeps asking where they are. She can't comprehend that some bigger kids can ride in the big seat belts. :)

I was surprised too. We tried an Affix with DS right when he turned 6 and he only had one slot to grow (and he's not big by any means). I returned it and got the performance booster instead.

I'm trying to remember what setting DS needed on the Recaro Vivo the first time he road in it (he was 4.5 I think - just a short trial ride of less than a mile). It fit him perfectly but possibly not on the lowest setting.

I'm planning on a parkway when we actually booster train but I got this turbo for $37 and it was not an amazon return plus only 2 month old manufacture date so I couldn't pass it up. I imagine Soph will use it at some point with the10 year lifespan but it may end up only backless. This 8 year old is fairly small but I'm hoping it fits her. If not I'll take the back off. She probably rides in nothing in her parents' cars. I'll be able to see at their family cookout Sunday...

J was 18 months old in this pic, it was a perfect fit on the lowest setting for the 0.5 seconds he sat still in it.
