Chest clips are dangerous?

I don't know, if they were so dangerous, then wouldn't that have come out at some point? Chest clips have been used for a LONG time in the US (and I presume in Canada as well).

I thought the European rules had something to do with speed to unclip the harness? I've never heard the chest injury thing.

Basically they are saying that they are dangerous because they can't be "properly" tested do to placement of the sensors on crash test dummies. Umm, ok.....sure.

I get that, but does the chest injury thing hold water?

No. Properly positioned chest clips do not cause injuries. It's just like the weight limit on tether anchors. Remember a couple of years ago there was this wild brouhaha over removing tethers at 40 lbs. if we didn't know the weight limits for the tether anchors? It's because they might fail. Right. Because in all the years they've been mandated in Canada and used over 40 lbs., they've been failing and whipping around passenger cabins. This guy's chest clip web page has been going around for awhile now. OK to ignore

I saw that as well and as others have pointed out, there were no studies referenced to back up these claims.

It's poorly written, not backed by any peer-reviewed research, and a blatant attempt at fear mongering to pitch a product.
