sign at local body shop

the sign outside a local body shop/collision repair place says "protect your vehicle's upholstery - place a towel under baby seat"
Ive never seen a garage have a sign like that before

Totally weird. At least they say towel, like most seat manuals, and not 'thick plasticky cover, sold for $19.99!', lol.

My new boss at BRU had to get his upholstery repaired in his new-to-him Volvo, I've never personally SEEN a seat ripped from a carseat, but it's not hard to imagine a big strong guy sitting in a Cosco heavily enough to do some real damage.

Somehow our very smooth Keyfit base ripped the leather in my mom's Aura (that DH was driving at the time, with the base installed and left in for several months). The only thing I can think of is maybe it had grit on the bottom when installed? It's a smooth base. But, it was an intact back seat pre-base-installation, and when we took the base out the leather seat had a rip.

I've never had issue with any seat getting ripped, even a Scenera or the Pria. I do hate the dents the Pria leaves, but they bounce back. Eventually.
