4 year olf twins with autism pushing down chest clip (merged thread)

Hello! I have 4 year old twin boys (both about 38 inches and one is 52 lbs the other is 40 lbs). They are in Radian RXTs. They are pushing their chest clips down and sliding their arms out and then basically standing in their seats. I called diono, and they sent me a different padding that goes above and below the clip, but they just take it off. Any suggestions? I would even be willing to buy two new seats if I need to.

When my grandson was doing this, I used 2 harness covers that I had from another seat that were stiff and didn't open with velcro (you had to thread them on). This worked perfectly. While not likely recommended by the manufacturer, it's an improvement over a child standing in a moving car. We were able to remove them after a few months.

Could you hand sew the shoulder pads on where the Velcro is so they can't just unvelcro them? Not to the straps or anything, just stitch the edge of the Velcro down.
