Britax Boulevard 70 versa tether install on airplane

We just flew with the Britax Blvd 70 for the first time- on Delta. We installed it forward facing with the seat belt extender. It was very easy for my son to tip the seat forward so that it was leaning at an angle toward the seat in front of him. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Has anyone had the same issue? That doesn't seem safe to me. I would like to figure out a solution before our return flight.

Hi there.

Planes don't have tethers. You don't need a seatbelt extender with this seat. It sounds like maybe it was too loose? I'd recline the plane's seat, install the seat snugly, pull the plane's seat back up and check for less than 1" of movement at the belt path. I've traveled with many different seats and never had one tip forward.

If he's under 40 pounds and has more than 1" of shell above his head (not headrest) you an also install his seat rear facing if that would be easier.

im wondering which belt path you used to install it forward facing. is it possible you put the seat belt through the rear facing belt path (near the feet) and not the forward facing belt path ?

just a thought.

it shouldnt have been able to tip forward unless it was too loose overall.
