Are the shoulder harness pads requires for a newborn?

Title says it all, just curious bc they seem so long that it'd be hard to keep the chest clip in position on a small noob... Didn't see the answer in the manual.

For the Cocorro, thread the shoulder pads through the harness slots so there is less on the baby and it works fine. They are so soft and squooshy that it doesn't interfere with the chest clip much at all even if you don't pull them through the slots.

The Cocorro is actually one of the few seats where I'm not bothered by the harness pads even on itty bitty babes.

They bothered me and I removed them. I could not find any reference to their being required in the manual. It seems unlikely that they would be since they are not like the Diono pads or HUGS. The seat tightens fine with them, but even easier without them, IMO.

I'll probably be putting them back on soon, once my girls regularly have summer clothes on (bare shoulders).

When did you buy yours? I just bought ours a couple weeks ago and I'm near positive the manual did address them and say they're not required. I'll try to remember to look later.

I need to check the date on mine. I think it's a 2012 but I bought it from a member here last summer. I didn't pull my manual out, I just looked at the link on here I the car seat features and data section...

I hope they're not required bc I don't use them on mine. They bunch up badly and also seems like he can't turn his head back and forth as well with them due to the bunching.
