Question 2010 Subaru Outback - convertible for 3 across?

Hi,

We have a 2010 Subaru Outback. Just realized that the Britax we inherited from relatives is expiring soon, so need to buy a new convertible seat for our 2.5 yo daughter (30 lbs, 36", forward facing). Also have a 6 month old who is currently in a KeyFit 30. We like to be able to fit a 3rd person in the back occasionally, and may need to have 2 carseats + a booster at some point if we have a 3rd child. (Ages would be newborn, 2, and 4 if that happens...)

I know that the Radian is an obvious choice, but am also thinking about a Chicco Nextfit or a Britax Roundabout G4. I'm thinking about a Combi Coccoro when daughter #2 outgrows the KeyFit 30, assuming that daughter #1 isn't ready for a booster yet. So down the line, would possibly have a KeyFit 30, Coccoro, and Nextfit OR Roundabout OR Radian.

Thoughts? Advice? Thank you!!

We also have the Outback, and while various 3-across combos are possible, I still think the Radian is your best bet. I have done 2 Radians side by side, outboard and center, and this left plenty of space for an adult in the other outboard seat. You could likely get one of the narrower boosters (or infant seats, as the case may be) in that space.

I think she'll probably stay forward facing, but am open to rear-facing if we find one that will work for that for our car and her size.

My daughter is right around the same size (not quite 3 years, 36" tall) and she is rear facing in a Radian in our Outback. Diono's angle adjuster makes a big difference in having more space upfront. However, it may still be tight if you're both over 6 feet.

My husband is 6' 4", so I'm not sure if the Diono will work for us rear-facing. May end up with Chicco Keyfit + Diono ff for now, and then get a Combi Coccoro for rf after daughter #2 grows out of the Keyfit... it sounds like the Coccoro takes up as little space rf as just about anything.
