6+ year old growth

Does the 1" of torso per year things still apply for 6+ year olds? Gage is 6y 7 months about 25th %ile in height now, but I am pretty sure he's pretty average in the torso. Maybe not. I don't know. I just moved the Nauti up to the next-to-top click in booster mode, and I keep looking at it thinking it's too high. He is right at the bottom of the guide on 3rd click down. According to the Measurements and Data doc, the Nauti has 20-21" top belt guides. I keep hearing about these "short" boosters with 19" top belt guides. Wouldn't that last him for, like, years and years? So, would it be reasonable for me to be shopping for a 19" or so booster, if I'm okay with a backless at 9?

I really want the Cambria, but I keep hearing that it will be June or July now before it gets released (Amazon date still says May). I really need to give my mom the Nauti back for Evie.

I keep coming back to the Harmony V6 (20.5-21")or The First Years B570 (20"). Any thoughts?

I don't know anything about growth charts, but I wanted to chime in with my opinion of the V6. We had one in my MIL's car last year. It's clunky, very difficult to adjust (not a big deal if it's set for one kid and you change the setting once a year), and my son complained that the belt cut into his neck. No matter what height I put it on, it still hit his neck. My older daughter, who was on the tallest setting when we got it, complained about the neck from the start. It's very upright. It was a pain! My MIL bought a new vehicle with headrests, so I got rid of it and gave her a backless.

Thank you for your experience! I searched for pics after I posted this and that's what I came across, too. It's also awful ugly....

So, how about the B570 (or B540 or whatever the other non-LATCH ones are). On the 570, are the belt guide hooks on the lap portion required? I am seeing it being misused if they are (with DH) or me having to help buckle every time.
