Need a convertible

Baby is 6mo and 22lbs. Car is 2010 Sonata. Encouraging RF as long as possible, so something with high weight limit, easy to install and take in consideration the child may always be "big". He's not really fat, just solid.
TIA

Thanks.

Well can't find the SureRide anywhere :( Too bad, looks like a nice seat.
The Guide 65 looks OK, maybe he will like it.

I'd just wait on the SureRide. I'm sure the buckle recall is all that's making them hard to find. They should pop back up soon.

What about a classic marathon on sale? I think that's super easy to install.

The classic marathon should get most kids to age 5 or 6 before being outgrown...

There's a 6 inch difference between the SureRide and the Marathon, that's huge. They are both tall so I have to assume their DS will likely be as well. I don't want them to move him too soon cause I know this will be his last 5-point seat he will buy.

I saw it at Target over the weekend.

Were there actual seat boxes? One Target I was at this weekend had the floor model, but no available seats. The other one had no trace of any Evenflo seats except spaces on the shelves where the displays used to be.

I was surprised -- I don't remember my Target pulling any of the Graco seats, and the Evenflo display model that was there had the "good" buckle so I would guess that the boxes they had last week would have had non-recalled seats too.

I wonder how long it takes for them to be available again? I remember joolsplus3 saying that it took forever for BRU to get the Gracos back on the shelves.

HEVY, how urgently does this parent need a seat?

I would not recommend the classic Marathon to a 22lb. 6 month old, simply because of the 35lb rf limit.
