Clothing sizes for car seat longevity?

I remember seeing a comment in here about what size shirt a kid can get to in a Britax before it is outgrown. Like, somebody said something like, "britax convertibles will usually keep a kid rear-facing until they are in ____ size shirts." The blank space was a size -- like 2T or 3T or 4T, but I can't remember which one. Can anyone help me out?

Also, any idea what size shirt a kid would get to in other convertibles? Particularly interested in Guide 65, Nextfit, Radian, Evenflo Symphony DLX.

I know it's not foolproof, but since I don't have a growth curve specifically for torso height, I will take any kind of estimates i can get!

Britaxes are a solid 3T generally.

Guide 65 is 40", so before torso height. The average 40" is 4, so about a 4T on average.

NextFit is about a size 6.

Radian is a very solid 4T.

Symphony is about a 2T.

NOT foolproof, NOT guaranteed, I'm sure there will be people coming on to tell me about their 4T child fitting in the Britax and their 3T child outgrowing the Guide, but this is a rough estimate.

Thank you! That's particularly helpful to know about the Symphony!

I agree with the Britax seats (don't know the others well enough). Just keep in mind that FF the Roundabout is shorter than the others.

The radian tends to be outgrown rf at 4t?? I thought it was about as tall as the nextfit? I am keeping a radian around in case my son gets tired of the high sides of the nextfit before outgrowing the height/weight but will it really not last as long? That's bizarre.

It's two inches shorter rear facing than the NextFit, which is about two shirt sizes. 24.5" seated height for the Radian versus 26.5" for the NextFit.

It has some variation (and maybe depends upon how tight/short the shirt is on the kid and whether they need the size for width, length or both? There is also some variation between brands of shirts). DS is in a 4T shirt and has quite a bit of room left in his Radian RFing. His shoulders are just above the 4th harness slot and he has a number of inches left in height. I haven't plunked him in a NextFit to compare though (we don't have it here).
