Be on the look out for more 'non-regulated' covers....

Walmart is now selling aftermarket car seat covers.

They're in the baby isle w/the sunshades and other stuff.

I work at Walmart and the baby department has had those for a long time! If I didn't know what I know about aftermarket stuff I would probably buy one because they are so cute and soft, so I can see how other parents will probably buy them!

What seat is that under the cover? That's an Evenflo chest clip, but I thought the straps were wider on an Evenflo, not to mention they are five point and that only shows a three point seat. Is it a Tribute under there, or a Titan? It doesn't really look like the old Triumphs.

I'm new here, so jk, what's wrong with the covers? I saw someone driving around with one yesterday in cow print, first time I've seen them.

The cow print is the Cowmoo Britax cover. That one is fine. These are not safe because they didn't come with the seat, they don't fit properly, they can cause the harness to not work as it should, they're not fire retardant, and in this particular case, they don't seem to have holes in them for the hip portion of the harness.

If it didn't come with your seat don't use it. You have no idea what will happen, and most people don't want to turn their children into crash test dummies. I would hate to see an aftermarket cover interfere with a harness so badly that ejection or injury is a result.

What toddler/convertible seats even have a 3-point harness? I thought only infants seats or OHS seats had those?

It just looks like they didn't bother to thread the lap straps through the cover. If you look closely it looks like the buckle assembly is stuck through the cover and the lap straps are under the cover. At least that's what it looks like to me. But yeah, the fit on that thing is awful. I really wish things like this weren't allowed to be sold.

Well that's even worse then isn't it? More margin for error of people using their seats incorrectly.
