Harmony Defender install issues

I recently picked up a Defender with the hopes of using it for my 4 year old instead of the Radian she is currently riding in so that I can pass the Radian down to the baby to use RF. However, the few times I've tried to install it I've had a heck of a time! The only acceptable install I've been able to achieve was with LATCH in an outboard seat in my Forester. Anytime I've tried installing it with a seat belt I can't get it nearly tight enough. I've tried it in two different vehicles now and haven't been able to get an acceptable seat belt install. Are there any tricks to getting it installed with the seat belt? I've tried playing around with the knob on the front but it seems like if that helps tighten things up at all it also pushes the front of the seat forward so that it ends up hanging off the edge of the vehicle seat which isn't allowed. I was hoping this seat would be an easier install than my Radian FF, but so far not so much! I can get the Radian almost rock solid in the center of my Forester but I wasn't even close with the Defender in that position. Any tips?

We don't have the Defender here, but our Harmony V7 is similar and also has an awful seat belt install. I found the best way to get it tight was to push from the base of the car seat back into the vehicle seat and also putting the weight of my knee into the seat while someone else pulls the seat belt tight. I also turned the knob to get a recline similar to the vehicle seat so that it sits fairly flush.

Ok, so it might not just be me then, lol. I thought that since I've become pretty good at installing a Radian in all sort of vehicles that I shouldn't have too much trouble with other car seats. It sounds like the Defender might have little quirks that I need to learn like the Radian does. I need it to get nicer out so I can go out and play with it and become more familiar with it! Either that or my DH needs to fix our garage door so I can actually use the garage, lol.
