Coccoro FF on airplane

I think I am going to forward face my 2 yr old on the plane in the Coccoro. She is not going to nap and would probably enjoy looking out the window and the TV. Do I need to do anything special like flip the buckle or get an extender? I remember reading the CCO could be tricky on a plane FF.

I literally have no idea how to install FF even in a car. I will read the manual, but just wanted to check - I just put the lap belt through the red FF route and tighten as normal? Can I recline at all or does the car seat back need to be flush with the airplane seat back?

Do I need to raise the harness straps to above her shoulders for the plane trip? They are right about even, a little below, her shoulders right now RF.

When we were forced to FF my DS1 we didn't flip the buckle and my DH spent over 30 minutes trying to get the seat out. We thought it would be there forever. Luckily we didn't have a connection.

The CCO FF on a plane is a very easy install. I have never had to flip the buckle or anything like that. I was able to get it nicely reclined for DS to sleep on an international flight. I wouldn't worry too much about the harness straps for a plane if they're that close. I moved ours and it just took a few seconds.

I never had to flip the buckle or use an extender either, but I kept a close eye on where the buckle was and if I'd be able to release it when tightening. DD still slept in hers FF because of the natural recline. :)

What is this about flipping the buckle? Is this a required (or common) practice with the CCO? What exactly are you flipping (and why)?

On an airplane, the buckle release is a big lever that you have to lift. With some child restraints, that lever can get pinned against the shell so that you can't lift it if you do not flip it over. With other child restraints with a closed belt path (a tunnel), it would be impossible to lift the lever so you need to ask for a belt extender, and make sure that one of the two buckles is not in the belt path.

The Coccoro needs to have all four of the belt guides on the back (for Euro routing when RF) in contact with the vehicle seat.

Thank you for that explanation. I thought everyone was talking about the car seat buckle, not the airplane seat buckle. This makes sense now, thanks!
