Hallo,

I kindly need your advice...
We own a SEAT LEON (5doors) of 2009 and our son (7 months old - 9000 kgs) is already 71 cm High, and we intent to buy a new one car seat.
We would like to buy a dual-use car seat (rear and front facing) and we are between: BESAFE IZI COMBI X3, BRITAX TWO WAY, BRITAX MULTI TECH.

Please advise me if all are rear and front facing, each one's dimensions, and which one is more convenient for our car.

Also please let us know the type of each car seat (in which GROUP belong) and in how many kilos we are allowed to use the front face?

Your prompt reply would be highy appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

OP is from Greece. :)

Sofia, did you mean 9000g, or 9kg for his weight? 9000kg is a bit off the charts. :)

Izikid would be the least suitable seat since it needs quite a bit of room and also has poor recline. MT needs less space than Izikid but slightly more than TWE.

All three seats are combination seats. Izikid is approved up to 18 kg while TWE and MT are approved to 25 kg. MT can be used rear facing to 25 kg, forward facing with harness to 18 kg and forward facing with seat belt to 25 kg.

TWE can be used rear or forward facing to 25 kg as well but also allow forward facing with harness to 25 kg. It's the only seat in Europe allowing this. Izikid will last to around age 4 or 110 cm while TWE and MT last rear facing to around age 6 or 125 cm.

TWE and MT will fit but space up front will not be great. The seats need relatively little space for their great capacity but are not the most compact seats. A more compact combination seat would be Klippan Triofix/Triofix Recline which can be used rear or forward facing and also installed with Isofix or seat belt. It's quite a bit more compact than TWE and MT and can be used 9-36 kg.

Britax Dualfix would be another combination seat allowing rear and forward facing use. It can be used up to 18 kg. Rear facing time with this seat is quite a bit shorter than the other seats due to a shorter seat shell.

Our usual recommendations for a Leon would be Britax Hi-Way, Britax Max-Way, Kiss 2 or Axkid Minikid for pure rear facing seats. Triofix and Dualfix would be the most suitable combination seats. These five seats would provide quite good space in front passenger seat as well.

Do you have Isofix?
