According to carseatblog and other reputable sources, Diono will be releasing three new convertibles in a matter of weeks. Is there any information at all about these new convertibles on their website? Not a peep.
Chicco worked hard to correct the three main complaints that parents had about their convertible seat, the Nextfit. All Nextfits manufactured since October have featured several key improvements and a clearer manual, but some of the improvements were retroactive to seats manufacturered before October. Is there any announcement of this exciting news on Chicco's website? No. In fact, if you look at the downloadable instruction manual available on the website, it is still the old, less clear manual featuring outdated information about the strap pads and the chest clip.
Why? Why do these manufacturers rely on word of mouth to spread important information about their products? I still have yet to find a store display (at multiple Targets, BuyBuyBaby and BRU stores) of the Nextfit that includes the updates, which means that the new features are only apparent to folks who have already bought the seat.
It's so ridiculous. It's been months since ABC Kids Expo -- isn't it about time for these companies to generate a little of their own buzz? I hate relying on rumor and just want to know what colors to expect each new radian to be offered in.
