    car seat safety in Buses

Hi, My question is about car seat safety on school buses. I drive a school bus and have had my little one with me since she was 4 weeks old. I was just given a different bus in which I can not install her seat rear facing. She is 22 months old and weighs 19 lbs. I have been planning on keeping her rear facing for a much longer time. I have seen posts saying after 1 its safe. I need facts to present to my employer so that I can get a bus that will accommodate a rear facing seat. Thanks

Hi there. What seat do you have?

At 19 pounds there are no seats in which she can forward face. The AAP and NHTSA recommend rear facing well past one.

Out of curiosity, why can't you install a seat rearfacing on your new bus?
