NO budget:

For a squishy who is 6 months old- will be moving to a convertible as soon as it warms up (April?) so she'll be 9 months.

Average size kiddo-maybe a little on the small side.
Proportionate torso/leg.

Needs:
comfortable
easy to install on a sloped seat (leather) 2012 sienna captains chair
Breathable fabric (we live where it gets super hot)

I'd like to keep her RFing till 3.

No more babies to pass it down to.

What doesn't work:
Complete Air (the angle isn't right)
Coccoro

What does work:
Radian w/out AA
Britax

BONUS for purple or girly!

Go!

Purple Radian was my first thought, with the sloped seats.

You hated the Foonf, right?

ETA: NextFit? Size4Me etc?

I couldn't even lift the foonf into my car! (I Have a back injury) And it wasn't very padded and didn't' seem very comfortable or very user friendly and I'm not car-seat stupid but it sure made me feel that way!

If it helps you feel any better, I work with a tech who has tons of experience, and she and I together took significant teamwork to understand & apply the ARB :p

Is the Radian too heavy? If so, Graco clones might be a better option than the NextFit. NextFit is super nice, but heavy too... although more like a bulky heavy, not the dense heavy of the Radian & Foonf.

I suspect there are more cool seats out there, I am just having a mental block...

I would go for the hot pink peg convertible. Or maybe a britax. I value ease of use and compactness. The radian does nothing for me and the foonf is too high.

I love our nextfit but since you say you have a bad back I should mention it's a bit of an ordeal to lean in and scoop the buckles out from under the kid to buckle, more so in a van than a sedan since it is higher up - the low sides of the radian might really be a winner for your situation, easy loading and all. Yes radian is heavy but hopefully you won't have to move it around much. It is supposed to install very well in those particular seats even without the AA.

The peg could work too, it also has low sides (the new britax have such deep sides) - it won't go as long as the radian rf but should go to 3 for a small to average child if not longer.

Of course if the deep sides and bad back are no incompatible disregard all that :)
