I'm just not shocked anymore from the stories I read here (and select few that have been on the news).
Kids riding in the trunk, on the roof, sideways, standing, it is just crazy.
It's strange you posted this, I just witnessed my first in-person display of extreme car seat misuse yesterday. We were at a red light and I glanced over and noticed in the rear center of this other car was an infant carrier car seat (aka *the bucket*) forward facing. If it's relevant, the infant that was in that seat looked to have been less than 3 months old. So I quizzed my husband, "What is wrong with that car seat? This is a test." and he said, "it's not buckled in, and it's not facing the back". He was right, I had not even noticed that it wasn't buckled in, I was still just picking my jaw off the floor over it forward facing.
Now the side-facing convertible seat is a new one for me. I just don't get it.
