I had some time this morning and took pics if a newborn sized doll in 3 seats. Trying to pick two to use in our vehicles. Which would you use???
First years via 470, CCO, pavillion 70 g3

The britax has the infant wedge and infant insert in it. The Via would prolly need a rolled blanket in the crotch. The seats are all at the angles they would be in the car. I am surprised the baby is sitting at different angles in all the seats. Is it dangerous for them to be at the angle the britax is achieving in the car? It seems so reclined.

Well, I LOVE my Via, and have found that it fits most babies quite well, so I would choose the Via, then the Combi. I too am not a fan of the way the Britax looks with the doll.

I like the Britax angle. I bought a CCO for my newborn and the first couple months it had him tucked chin to chest. In your pics the Britax appears to open the doll's airway the most.

I can't believe I just commented on a doll's airway.

very partial to buckets as long as possible so I vote via. Does it have a metal handy? Boy does it look snazzy!

The via does have a metal handle used for rebound control. I liked the seat so much that I bought one on crazy clearance when we were still TTC!! Lol

Lol, dolls airway!!! I See what you are talking about. I bet an infant would squish down some of the padding too so baby would fit better.

Hmmm... I was really hoping the CCO would work behind the drivers seat in my car as it is the only seat that will work in that spot but don't want to be concerned about an airway especially since I can't see baby in that spot.
I am also wanting to try the Via center next to a FR90. It won't fit next to the FR 85...

I still used the CCO (because it was the only thing that allowed room for a driver!) and was pleased with it. Baby never complained, and you know babies can complain if they want to. I just switched out for a Scenera when we went on roadtrips and made a point of not letting baby take an actual nap in that seat. He outgrew the squish in a few months and still uses that seat and I would have NO qualms about using it for another newborn. But now I notice that sort of thing in carseats.

I use CCO from birth. Love it. Here are some picture of a real newborn in the CCO.

I think newborns just look kind of awkward in carseats. It doesn't take long before they look a little more not squished up. My babies are really little. The three month picture below might be more like someone else's regular size newborn.

I used a G3 Roundabout 55 and Marathon 70. The wedge made a great angle for DD3 though I agree newborns just look awkward in them at first. It worked great.

Thank you so much!!! That really helps. I am thinking I will do the CCO in my car and the via in hubby's car. Unless I get a FR90 for dd than I may be able to fit the via next to that in my car. Pretty sure my hubby doesn't think we need more seats though....lol

I have a RA 55 too...eek!! I was wondering if that would be less awkward because of the extra piece from the headrest in the Blvd. Did you use the support cushion with the wedge?

Yes, I used the wedge and cushion but it's nothing compared to the ones in the G4. http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=225601 These aren't great for showing her angle. The wedge really increases the recline a lot. I think the shoulder pads actually helped support a lot.
ETA: Wait, if you mean a separate infant cushion, then no. I used the wedge and basic insert that came with it.
