We are trying to decide where to place our carseats. Her infant car seat will not fit in the middle ))):
We have a small Toyota Scion. I have tried to research crash tests on which side is safer and if body weight effects he danger of the child if ejected from the car and I cant seem to find anything.

Our son is 16m 32 in 27 lbs in convertible rear facing carseat and our girl is due in feb. infant carseat.

Hello and welcome to car-seat.org!

Some studies show one side is "better" than the other, but then other studies seem to contradict the first. Therefore, I would install each seat in whichever position it fits best.

If you often park on the street, and if both seats fit equally well in both positions, I would be temped to put the infant seat behind the driver, and the convertible behind the passenger BECAUSE it takes less time to pop the infant seat into the base than it does to put the toddler in his seat, so that would leave the rear driver's side door open to the street for a shorter period of time.

HOWEVER, the key is going to be finding the best location for each seat.
