CCO odd fit?

Just curious if anyone else had this problem. Reid is in a CCO and we're using the infant insert bc he's only 6lbs now. He fits well in the seat, straps are below his shoulders etc. My only complaint is that it seems like it makes him lay at such an odd angle that he can't turn his head well. I even tried removing the head pillow too bc it seems to make it even worse but his head still looks odd & uncomfortable. I'm just wondering if anyone else had this issue or maybe my kid just has an odd shaped head or something? He doesn't seem to mind and sleeps well in it.

I'll try to take a picture too bc it's kinda hard to explain.

I can't see photos right now (probably me, not you), but I think I know what you're talking about.

My DD was fine with the insert, but it fit my DS2 weird. It brought his body up so high that I worried about his airway. Like, instead of his head flopping down, his body flopped up.

The Combi CPST rep told me it was fine to not use the body support as long as he fit correctly otherwise, which he did, so I removed it. That technically goes against the manual, though.

I had one of the older versions where the body an head support were one piece, fwiw.

It appears your little guy just has an odd way of sleeping in the seat (turning his head opposite the neck tilt). It looks like the infant insert is fitting properly according to your pics. I wouldn't worry about it.

Attached is our guy on the ride home from the hospital at 7lb, 5oz.

Yes, that is exactly what it's doing. It brings his body up so high that if I put him in so that his head is perfectly straight, his chin is literally on his chest. I'm sure that isn't comfy and thats why he keeps his head turned to one side. Unfortunately he doesnt fit without the insert so I'll just have to deal with it for now. I just thought it was odd...

The CCO did that to my little guy too until he grew a neck. I checked with Combi and they let me take the infant padding out but then even though the seat fit well he was all floppy and uncomfortable without it. He seemed to prefer chin to chest but it freaked me out. I still used the CCO but if I expected to be in the car 20+ minutes I switched it out for a Scenera which didn't put him in that position. And he was not a small baby. He was born 9.11 and didn't stop being squished in the CCO until 3+ months. But since then he's been great in it and it's almost 2 years later.
