recaro performance vs kiddy cruiserfix booster

so I am trying to decide without seeing one in real life between the Recaro performance booster or the kiddy cruiserfix booster. My son is 11 and is 54 in tall. And weighs 85lbs The parkway is pinching him and I just found out our Monterey requires a head rest behind it and our one car doesn't have any. Bought him the incognito for my van with hopes of putting Monterey in car (before I knew I couldn't) and the belt is too high on his belly. So back that goes and the cartd head rest too. Anyone seen these seats irl to tell me about them? I'm in hickville. And I can't afford to order both at once to compare.
Oh he fits nicely In my other sons frontier 90 In booster mode, if that helps at all.
Tia!

I would not buy a Performance Booster without being able to try your son in it first. My DS (12) is about 58" - so taller than your son, but not extremely so. I had him sit in DD1's Performance Booster, and he could not shrink himself to fit - couldn't get his shoulders under the headrest. I predict that your son wouldn't have much (if any) growing room.

If were you, I'd focus on a more long-term solution Are there any seating positions available for h with headrest and lap/shoulder belt? What vehicle do you have?

How much growing room does he have in the Frontier as a booster and how old/big is the child that usually uses the Frontier?

This chart has info on dedicated boosters so you can see how tall the belt guides go: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvfUm4x64h3AdEh6WWV0V1NVM05aS0ozMHZQT19nTVE&hl=en#gid=0

This is the same info for combo seats, the Frontier 90 has 23" for the belt guides: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvfUm4x64h3AdHpYd2k4RlQ1TnhUSGx4VEZaY09KUXc&hl=en#gid=0

So the Frontier is actually the tallest HBB you can get. Is it feasible to move the younger child to a different seat?
