frontier 80 expiration

Is it nine years for the whole thing or just the booster function? I was thinking it was six years for the harness and nine for booster, but I can't find that info anywhere. Thanks.

In the Carseat Data forum it is listed as 9y total.

I saw that, but had it in my head as six and nine. I must be thinking of the Nautilus with two expirations. The online manual says nine also, so that's great. Of course that means no new seat for my ds. Our Regent is expiring in a couple months, and I think our Nautilus is expiring in harness mode soon too. He has to be harnessed with our vans lack of shoulder belts. The Radian doesn't install tight ff. So I guess I'll stick the harness back in the 80 and make dd use the Monterey. I was kind of hoping for a good excuse to buy a Frontier 90!! Of course, if I don't mention to dh that the Frontier 80 is a harnessed seat that ds can use.......

Check your manual for the DOM and expiry for the Graco too and/or call them, there was some flipping around about expiration on the Nautilus for awhile. Some last longer than others, so worth checking if you still need the harness another year or so...

Checked the Nautilus today and it was manufactured 12/2007, so I guess it expired last month. I'll have to double check then ditch the back and harness. My last Regent expires next month. The Radian doesn't install well ff in my van. And my dd is having a cow at the very thought of giving up her booster (Frontier 80) and using the Monterey. I really want to make my almost eleven year old stay in a booster even though he is four foot nine and I've been telling him he could get out of it when he hit that height. The Monterey is his seat. The seat belts in my van seriously don't fit anyone right. I really need a different van, but that probably won't happen for at least another year. Sometimes I wish I could go back to being oblivious about car seat safety!! But not really.

When I told my husband one seat is expired and the other one is expiring next month he said "I don't understand how a car seat could expire." I guess I haven't done a very good job educating him on this stuff.
