2013 Nissan Leaf and RXT

Just got a 2013 Nissan Leaf (smitten!!!).

Totally confused about how long I can use LATCH RF with my RXT. And does the new LATCH guidelines affect me? RXT is 2012. But will also be getting another new RXT in the next week.

Babe currently weighs 35 lbs.

First, I cannot find LATCH limits in the Leaf manual. So does that mean I can RF LATCH until babe hits 45 lbs and FF until he is 80 lbs?

The LATCH install is easier for me, but don't want to use it if it's not within the guidelines.

Welcome and congrats on your new wheels! :D I'm green with EV envy, please pardon the punning. ;)

There's been no word thus far to my knowledge in 2014 about Diono or Nissan revising their LATCH installation weight limit specifications. Radian models with SuperLATCH connectors currently permit a LATCH installation up to the Radian's maximum harnessed forward facing weight limit in vehicles manufactured after Sept. 1, 2005 per the Radian's manufacturer, and Nissan allows use of LATCH up to the carseat manufacturer's specified maximum for a LATCH installation per the LATCH manual, so you're technically allowed to use SuperLATCH in your '13 Leaf up to the Radian's maximum harnessed forward facing weight limit. If you wish to install in the center rear seating position in your Leaf's back seat, though, you need to install in the center using the vehicle seatbelt. This is because the center is not a dedicated lower LATCH anchor equipped seating position, and Nissan doesn't allow you to "borrow" an innermost lower LATCH anchor from the dedicated sets on each side of the back seat to do a lower LATCH anchor install in the center.

LOL - loooooooooove my "leafy" (that's my pet name for it)

Thank you for confirming what I suspected, but was not 100% sure about. That my Nissan Leaf defers to my car seat manufacturer's LATCH limits.

I can confidently RF my kiddo until he is 45 lbs in my RXT - EXCELLENT!!!!

He will be outboard, so will have access to dedicated LATCHes.

THANK YOU!
