My kid has no neck!!

My 4yr 4mo DD recently got a FR90 which she looooves. However, if I put the harness "at or above" her shoulders, the head wings are high. If I put the wings where they should be, the harness is below her shoulders. Will she ever grow a neck and fit in it right??

I think that has been a very common complaint here. I've noticed a lot of people here wishing that Britax would redesign the headings.

It's not your kid. It's the seat. For whatever reason. The fr90 has the headwings much higher in relation to the harness than the fr85. That is probably the main reason we didn't get a fr90. I love our fr85 for a sleeping kid...fr90 looks more upright and my friend's son has awful head flop when sleeping in it. The install on the fr90 is crazy easy though. I imagine one day we will end up with one for ds2 for that reason....but I keep hoping they will move rhyming headwings slightly closer to the harness slots!

It's the seat. Put the headwings at or slightly above the shoulder, and don't worry about the headwings.

The headwings do seem higher, but I never found it to be an issue. My son still sleeps comfortably in the seat all the time and his head is fully supported.

:yeahthat: At first I was thrown by the higher and taller head wings too because we were used to the 85, but my only real complaint is my reduced visibility. My DD has never complained, looks comfy, and hasn't had head slump when she's slept in it (without recline). I hope it works out well for you too.

Good to know, yet another reason to be glad I haven't bought one yet! LOL Still kind of kicking myself that I did not buy one of the clearance 2nd generation ones! LOL

Still, want the ease of install and am debating, but didn't love the headrest for other reasons....

I hate this about our FR90! The bottom of the wings are at the tips of my 4 year old's ears. The top of the adjustment handle is a good 10 inches over the top of his head. The harness is maybe 1/2" higher than his shoulders at most. Poor design.

This is the same reason that I got rid of the prosport. I know it isn't a problem in how the seat functions, but it drove me nuts.
