Evenflo Embrace Select

At work (residential drug and alcohol rehab), we had 2 expiring SnugRides, so I got approval to dispose of them and get a new seat. I didn't have time to order one as we have a resident due any day. The only seat with a front adjust that they had at our local WM was the Evenflo Embrace Select, so I picked it up. It looks like a decent seat. We didn't need the high weight limit as most of our moms discharge within a month or two of giving birth. But I did like the low weight of 4lbs in case any of our moms have an itty bitty.

Are there any quirks about it that I need to know about?

I actually like the Embrace Select/35 a lot. :)

Make sure to read the manual well. The harness straps have 2 loops. The inner loops must be used for newbies and Evenflo is specific about how the end of the straps should hang on the splitter plate. There is an illustration in the manual. There are also multiple crotch buckle settings.

Perhaps the main thing you should know is that for US use the handle must be all the way forward or all the way back when in the car. In Canada, it must be all the way forward to act as anti-rebound.

The base is a bit of a pain. The angle indicator isn't the greatest, but all-in-all, the seat is nice for the amount you paid.

We just started distributing infant seats at work (it used to be that babies had to be 3mos to get a seat from us) and this is the seat we decided to get. With the 4-35lb weight range, I feel it gives the most bang for the buck for our purposes. I've only installed a couple, but it wasn't too difficult. The ARB/behind shell handle position is the quirkiest thing I can think of. I am so glad the ARB position is an option... thank you Canada!!
