Question Two Dionos and a Snugride 35 in a Toyota Matrix??

We are expecting our third child. Exciting yes, but we are hoping to do 3 across in the back seat of a Toyota Matrix. Buying 3 new seats is cheaper than buying a whole new car!

I did a ton of research on 3 across and bought two Diono Radians. We've had them for our 2 and 4 year old for about 6 months and love them. According to everything I've read a third Diono should fit well in our back seat for kiddo #3.

However, our friends loaned us their almost new Graco Snugride 35 infant car seat...and I'm hoping to get to take advantage of their generosity. The infant car seat is so much more convenient than a convertible when kids are tiny.

Last night I installed all 3 seats in the back seat of our Matrix. I had to slide each Diono about 2 inches over to fit the Snugride base between them. They all install tight and they don't hit the doors but the Dionos are slightly off center from their respective latch configurations. Is that OK? Is there any hope of using an infant bucket with two dionos?

Sometimes installing with the seat belt will give you a little more room. Also, you might have more room installing a radian in the center and the infant seat out board. I dont know how a matrix compares to a corolla, but I could do 3 across in it with a radian center. Once you have that seat installed, you can compare the outboard spots because they aren't always equal. In the corolla, 2 radians and an infant seat would have fit if I put it behind the driver.
