CAN car seats may be used in the US?!

A baby boutique told a friend that while US seats may not be used here, the CAN ones may be used there. Is this correct?

Didn't sound right to me.

Evenflo seats sold in Canada are also certified for use in the US. No other seats are. The Orbit infant seat was also dual certified for a while as well.

Also in general, if you're talking about visiting in Canada/USA temporarily I believe all provinces and states permit you to use your home-certified Canadian/American seats.

There might be different maximum timelines, or rules specifying that for example the child be riding in your Canadian licence plated car in the USA, in her Canadian seat. As opposed to an American plated car belonging to those you are visiting for example.
