Looking For: Response to We did not have these when I was young.

I know I have seen a great response for the old "We did not have car seats when I was little, and I was fine."

The response was an older gentleman that was saying how his son was one that could not respond, as he did not survive.

Anyone have that?

Yes, this was a person I talked to at a store. He was so upset even so may years later.

My favorite snarky reply to that logic is "Funny, I have yet to talk to anyone that said, I didn't have a car seat when I was a kid and I died." The story is a better example, but sometimes sarcasm is more fun.

We had someone come on this board, I think it was earlier this year, talking about his sister who had died in a car accident in the years before child restraints.

I think if I got someone telling me the "we didn't have those when I was a kid" I would respond with "Neither did the thousands of other children who didn't survive childhood. It was their legacy that brought us modern safety restraints."
