Question Combination seat small car? Nautilus, Frontier Securekids 400?

Hi. I am looking to buy a combination seat for my 2yr old toddler. I want something that will last as much as possible. He is quite big for his age. He outgrown by height the Combi Coccoro convertible he is now using.

After extensive research I found as possibilities Graco Nautilus, Britax Frontier 90 and Evenflo Securekid 400. Britax seems the best but is also more expensive and difficult to find in my country. Nautilus seems great for my needs but I read many people complains about the “crotch strap issue” . Also, people complain that it not comfortable to sleep as it does not recline. Evenflo is like in the middle.

Two restrictions:
- my car is compact. It's a Peugeot 206 (very popular in Europe and Latin America), but for your reference let’s say is the same size approximately like a Chevy Spark or little smaller than a Ford Fiesta. Installation is only possible with seatbelt (no LATCH).

- I cannot leave the seat installed in my car, so frequent installation / reinstallation will be the norm.

This is not only a big expending for me but also quite troublesome, as car seats are not easy to find in my country and once I choose I can’t change my mind.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi! Even if the britax frontier is more expensive, it has a really easy seat belt install and will last your child until he's ready for a booster. I don't have experience with the install of the nautilus and securekid, so hopefully someone else will chime in!

I live in Argentina.

Yes, Frontier seems great but also quite big. In addition, after I think 60 punds it requires the use of top tether, which my car (and most cars in my country) does not have. Don't know the others.

By the time your child will hit 60lbs, he will be ready to move into a dedicated booster with seatbelt. As an example, an average child will be around 45lbs at 5 yo.
