So I have a safety st infant seat in layaway that a got for a pretty good deal and today a friend called me and offer me her chicco infant seat with 2 bases. I don't know what to do. I know the chicco hasn't been crashed and she said she has never washed it but it is blue and I am having a girl.... I don't know what to do... cancel the layaway and take the chicco or not???

Is space a factor? I think the On Board takes up some room front to back where as the Key fit is more compact. On the other hand, the On Board will last longer as it has more height.

The On Board will last longer, possibly get you through this winter and the next. The Key Fit is a great easy install base or baseless. I have an On Board but have never used it, so I can't comment on it's ease of use.

I find the Onboard Air to be just as easy, if not easier to install compared to the Keyfit. But really both are a breeze.

It's a tough call. When DD was born, I had it narrowed down to Keyfit or Onboard Air. After playing with both seats at BRU my husband and I settled on the Onboard Air. But it was a close contest. They are both very very good car seats.

I am probably not much help in your decision making process, except that you should know that you will most likely be happy with either choice.

I looked at both and ended up getting a Keyfit due to available stroller options. Seems there is an adapter for the keyfit for almost every stroller on the market - not the case with the onboard.
