Question Car Seat Safe Fleecesuit for Infant

Hi,

I have a 7 month old daughter riding in a Chicco Nextfit. She is 15.13lbs and 26 inches. I have a question about winter wear for infants. I know heavy coats aren't safe in carseats, but would a one piece fleece suit be ok for winter? We live in PA and it's already getting cold. I picked up a hooded performance fleece fleece suit from Old Navy and wondered if it would be suitable for her to wear this winter in the Nextfit? Thanks!

Does that apply to the "micro performance hooded fleece one piece" deals at ON? A friend was just asking, she wondered because it is described as plush, with a double lining.

That first Columbia one is great. I used those until my kids outgrew the biggest size :). Hanna Andersson fleece works well too.

Something I'm wondering is you see a lot of hoodies that have a fake fur look. Are they as warm as regular fleece? They don't feel thicker than fleece maybe a touch thinner? The label of the one from GAP that I'm thinking of says its made from 100% polyester. I bought two for my girls ages 2 & 6 for a dressier coat but if there is a big difference in warmth from fleece than I will return them. Does any one know what I mean?

Thanks for bringing this up!

My in-laws just got this one. Any thoughts?

We were also thinking about this one: http://www.columbia.com/on/demandwa...ite/default/mProduct-Show?pid=SN7933&start=12

It's a fleece suit with a windbreaker suit that can be worn over it. The windbreaker material is very thin, of course, so it doesn't really add much bulk, but is it still safe?

We live in MN.

The first Columbia one, the Snowtop II, is the fleece bunting that we've used for both of our kids. My mom bought it at Cabela's as a joke 3 years ago when DD1 was a baby, but it ended up being really useful. DD2 had it on in her Keyfit this morning! It's kind of annoying to get a wiggly baby/toddler in and out of it but we like the fold-over hands and feet.

I feel like the ON one with the lining is too thick. If you already bought it, put it on and buckle in the baby and tighten as usual. Take baby out without changing the harness, take the suit off, then buckle baby back in. If there's any harness slack and the harness needs to be tightened, the suit is too puffy.
